Adoptions
We are now blogging at Muskegon Adoptions - Ask Marianne. Please visit our blog to learn more about adoption in Muskegon County.
Adoptions are handled in the Family Division of Circuit Court.
Michigan law allows for several types of adoptions. The most common are step-parent, relative, adult and state and court ward adoptions. In the case of a step-parent adoption when all parties agree, the adopting parents may represent themselves. However, each case is unique; therefore it is strongly recommended that you seek legal counsel to aid you in this process.
Adoption packets are available at the third floor receptionist’s desk.
