Muskegon County Emergency Services is the coordinating agency for Muskegon County's preparedness and response to disasters and/or emergencies. Emergency Services directs the implementation of the Muskegon County disaster preparedness activity and is responsible for establishing and maintaining effective control and emergency services planning.

The mission of the Muskegon County Emergency Services Department, in cooperation with the Emergency Management Division of the Michigan State Police (EMD/MSP) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), is to save lives and protect property in this County. This will be accomplished by having an emergency plan and program that is developed and exercised according to State and Federal guidelines and which takes into account any unique circumstances within our County.
