Only cash, in the full amount, may be posted as bond. To post this bond, money may be deposited into the inmate’s account in two ways. Money can be deposited through the inmate account kiosk located at the entrance to the Michael E. Kobza Hall of Justice or online through ExpressAccount.com. The kiosk is open 24/7.
This is the most common type of bond in Muskegon County. Cash in the full amount may be posted or a bonding company may be used to post this bond. If posting cash, money can be deposited through the inmate account kiosk located at the entrance to the Michael E. Kobza Hall of Justice or online through ExpressAccount.com. The kiosk is open 24/7.
This type of bond requires that the defendant post no money, but appear at all necessary judicial proceedings and participate in no illegal activities while awaiting trial. While the court may set a bail amount, the defendant is not required to pay it unless he does not meet the conditions of bail: show up at all court dates and behave. Additional conditions on the bond may be set by the court.
Note: there may be “holds” from other jurisdictions that may have a bond, in addition to the Muskegon County bonds, and may prevent the inmate from being release from the Muskegon County Jail.
