State Requirements

State law requires loads be tarped and secured while traversing Michigan roadways to prevent roadside litter. All loads must be secured. Untarped fee is $20 per load.

Prohibited Items

The following items are prohibited from entering the landfill.  Anyone attempting to dispose of any prohibited materials may be subject to removal from the landfill site (with said materials) and any other appropriate measures applicable under Michigan Law.

    • PROPANE TANKS
    • LEAD ACID CAR/TRUCK BATTERIES
    • APPLIANCES WITH FREON (FRIDGE/FREEZER/DEHUMIDIFIER/AC UNITS)
    • WHOLE TIRES
    • LIQUIDS 
    • YARD WASTE (GRASS/LEAVES/BRUSH ETC)
    • USED OIL
    • ASBESTOS
    • MEDICAL WASTE
    • PCB WASTE
    • HAZARDOUS WASTE
    • FLUORESCENT BULBS
    • EMPTY DRUMS (OPEN TOP DRUMS FULL OF ACCEPTED SOLID WASTE IS OKAY)
    • SEPTAGE
    • DEPOSIT BEVERAGE CONTAINERS
    • TENORM (TECHNOLOGICALLY ENHANCED NATURALLY OCURRING RADIOACTIVE MATERIALS
