Food Service Inspections

The Food Service Sanitation program inspects food service establishments for compliance with the Michigan Food Law and the Michigan Modified Food Code using a “risk-based” inspection strategy. This type of inspection focuses on how the following illness-causing risk factors are/are not controlled during operation of a licensed food service establishment:

  • Contaminated Equipment
  • Food From Unsafe Sources
  • Improper (Hot and/or Cold) Holding Temperatures
  • Inadequate Cooking
  • Poor Personal Hygiene
