The Food Service Sanitation program inspects food service establishments for compliance with the Michigan Food Law and the Michigan Modified Food Code using a “risk-based” inspection strategy. This type of inspection focuses on how the following illness-causing risk factors are/are not controlled during operation of a licensed food service establishment:
- Contaminated Equipment
- Food From Unsafe Sources
- Improper (Hot and/or Cold) Holding Temperatures
- Inadequate Cooking
- Poor Personal Hygiene
